It was my 21st birthday yesterday, December 10. I cannot believe how time goes by so fast realizing that i am not a teen anymore. When i was asked what do i want for my birthday, i couldn’t answer anything (aside from world peace, love, happiness, safety and good health). I simple said “i have enough”. With my super family and real friends, i couldn’t ask for more. God gave me everything i need.

What’s a better way to celebrate my birthday? T.G.I. Friday’s! It is our favorite place because it lifts everyone’s mood up and it is really a place of celebration. Last 2010 marks its 45 years of food and fun! Its first restaurant opened at New York City at the corner of First avenue and 63rd street.

We ordered the all-time favorite Chicken Fingers and Beef Fajitas  Did you know that it was Friday’s who made it widely popular to serve the Mexican appetizer, Nachos. They are also one of the first casual dining restaurants to serve fajitas. Plus they created the non-alcoholic Smoothies and Flings in honor of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In fact, it was Friday’s who popularized these frozen concoctions.

This garlic-marinated Chicken and Shrimp that was sautéed on a sizzling skillet of onions, peppers and melted American and Mexican cheeses served with creamy mashed potatoes was really yummy! And because it is my special day, i got a homemade vanilla ice cream on the house.

This place is really festive! The whole crew sang me a birthday song. I hope i perfected the oh-i-looked-surprised face. Unlike my sister, you could obviously see in her face that she doesn’t know how to react after her own birthday song being sung. Hahaha! They serve up to nearly 3.5 million Brownie Obsession desserts in a given year. And in a typical year, they dish out over 27 million burgers!

Then we headed to Friday’s pub! Since my sister and i are legal already, we are allowed to drink in the bar, In front of our parents. Yay! Café Friday’s drink is the best i’ve ever tasted! It is an exotic blend of chocolate and hot coffee spiked with gin and rum, and blended with Kahlúa, amaretto and dark créme de cacao. It is only served at Friday’s.

Now i am still thinking of how to celebrate my birthday with my friends. Well, this morning, my family and i had a late lunch at Solenad 2. This is my hometown.

There is this newly opened ribs and wings shack and we’ve decided to give it a try.

Look at these half slab of baby back ribs, honey barbecue hot wings, garlic parmesan chicken fingers and fresh nachos! And because it is my birthday, i got a free NY cheesecake ice cream with blueberry sauce! I wish it is my birthday everyday. Hihi.

The weather was so gloomy and it is the kind of weather you want to eat outside with your pajamas on plus a messy hair in a bun. And if you are my sister, you would think twice about taking a bath. Hahaha!

After eating so much again, we tried the Polaroid camera and dad failed to take a decent shot of us. Huhu. My sister tried to take hurry-up-everyone-is-looking Lookbook shots of me. It was humiliating. Haha.

Much to our frustration, we just stayed in our happy place. Serenitea! My Okinawa milk tea with egg pudding always makes me happy. And my sister’s Wintermelon tastes equally good.

I think it’s becoming a habit of collating my sister’s weird and funny faces. Beware ina! Hihi.

But she looks so pretty here!

Look how nice our neighborhood is. This is the place i would always want to go home to after a hard day’s work. It is a place of comfort and relaxation away from the city.

To those who greeted me through call and text, i appreciate it so much! To the hundreds of my friends on Twitter and Facebook who remembered my birthday, thank you! And to those who dropped by my house to give me gifts, my deepest gratitude to you guys! It is overwhelming and it is beyond what i’ve asked for. Thank you so much for this day Lord!
