Last friday night (i’m trying not to sing hahaha) was the last leg of Meg’s Up and Coming party series! The KYSS bar and restaurant lounge was full of fashion bloggers and party animals. Haha! This party was thrown to exclusively feature the young and emerging fashion designers, Camille Co and Laureen Uy. Fashion blogs and Filipino bloggers carry growing fashion industry influence. They have their own sense of style and they set trends that can also positively help the up and coming local designers or even bring the high-end designers back to life. I tried to make a Lookbook account a year ago but i am too lazy to fix myself and i barely accessorize myself. I might bore you to death with my super simple (but let’s say classy to save me some face) and laid back (trying not to be ‘pambahay’) style. But it has always been my dream to work in a magazine company and someday create a clothing line (hopefully not a line ‘pambahay’ clothes).
Moving on, a lot of people have become staple names in the fashion industry through their blogs, like Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes, Scott Schumann of The Sartorialist, Chiara Ferragni’s Blonde Salad, Andy Torres’ Style Scrapbook and Rumi Neely’s Fashion Toast to name a few. I absolutely like these blogs as well: A Beautiful Mess, Style, WhoWhatWear, Honestly WTF, The Vogue Diaries and The Beauty Department. Non-fashion blogs like Thought Catalog, The Daily Love, Jeff Goins’, Love Gives Me Hope, Blinks of Life and The Notebook Doodles are some of my favorites! And here in the Philippines, designers Camille Co (CoExist) and Laureen Uy (Stylebreak) have established a brand in their own RTW fashion line. They have also won outstanding awards and were featured for countless of times in print, media and online. Well-known stylists, models, designers and bloggers such as Kryz Uy, Patricia Prieto and Lissa Kahayon have also inspired us in their respective fields in beauty and fashion.
Look how lost i looked like :/ I was waiting for the program to cue and i was super hungry because it was almost midnight. The open bar was closed i think. Ironic. Hahaha.
We were seated at the front seats at the back of the stage platforms. Okay i don’t make any sense again. But our faces were literally the background for the entire program! We were with the Sari Yap and to start the program we were introduced by Bianca Gonzales as the meg team. We are the people behind this, literally! Hihi
This is my first unofficial photo with my superwoman boss, Bianca Gonzales! Yaaay! She is naturally beautiful and she has a big heart. Plus i’m getting used to my commuting spree! I ride the bus, train, van, trike, sometimes jeep plus endless walking from Sta. Rosa, Laguna (Tagaytay road) to Ortigas center everyday. I know it’s super exhausting but it’s all worth it
Hey, why is my bang (not bangs) messed up and loitering all over my face? I can’t wait ’til they air this on television at ETC this week! Thanks Solar Entertainment Corporation for covering our event. I hope they blur my big and fugly face.
These are the wall photos of that night! And i would love to see your write-up of how you enjoyed the night as well as the photos of the party. I have seen a few and my awkward-slash-weird face was the background for most of their shots! Kill me now.
It was ate (i know she hates it when i call her and everyone ate in the office haha) L.A.’s birthday that night! Thank you for being so nice to me and for treating me like your sister
Which reminds me of how much i missed my real sister that night! ☹ We are often mistaken as twins because we really look alike except we have a huge difference – she eats like there’s no tomorrow (like a manong kargador hahaha but she never gets fat! lucky!). Click here to spot her funny face, or if i can say faces.
Thank you bloggers-slash-college-slash-commute buddies for coming! It was totes fun for spending this party with you guys ![]()

You may be a fashion blogger, a travel blogger, a food blogger, a video music blogger, a lifestyle blogger, a personal blogger, an arts & craft blogger or an inspirational blogger but it doesn’t matter because we are all equal in this blogosphere and we all try to influence other people in style or some kind of sense. Either you post photos and stories for fun or to make money, it all comes down on how you actually make a difference. I blog to feel infinite through writing my heart out in poetry and prose but more importantly, i blog to try to inspire others with my positivity and passion in everything i do. Cheers! ☺
